How Much Does a Survey Cost?

There are many factors that affect the cost of a land survey, including:

• Terrain and Vegetation - rough terrain and/or heavy vegetation increase the field time required to complete a survey. Woods, brush, undergrowth, and shrubs may require cutting to clear a line of sight.
  
• Location - Research of county records is required for most surveys. Long distances to the county courthouse and/or the subject property increase travel time.
  
• Development - This can include existing subdivisions in urban areas and locations of roads in rural areas. Newer subdivisions are more likely to have existing property corner documentation. Rural areas without many roads require extensive walking.

Costs vary for every survey based on these and other factors; however, a typical survey in our area can range from $1,000 to $3,500.
